In The Kitchen

Last night you came in the kitchen, to where I was sittin, I got up to leave while I could.
But it was too late to leave, you had already seen me. You said "stay" I froze where I stood.
But then we both apologized, and I fell deep into your blue eyes, I looked at your face one last time.
But then I woke up covered in sweat, I was missing you half to death, I might as well get up and get dressed.
But I'll never get to apologize.
And I'll never get to look at your face one last time.
and we'll never get to feel alright,
again.
Everything I do and see stirs up your memory. I met you while I met this city.
I've been told that this is my home, as much yours as it is my own, but I feel weak on these streets alone.
I am not able to find, the strength to make this city mine, I'm losing sleep and track of my time.
I spent so long feeling so down, I'll get the bends if I come up now, first warm day of spring I'll skip town
I wish that you missed me too.
and I ever dearly want that to be true.
I want the good without the bad,
with you
I don't know what people see when they first take a look at me,
but I am so much more than I appear.
I have always hated change, but I'm learning to say my name like it is something to be proud to be
Last night you came in the kitchen, to where I was sittin, I got up to leave while I could.

It's not impossible, and I'm doing my best, but these constant failures wear at my resolve.
and I know I'm hard to love, and I'm not honest enough, and these scarred eyes distort the things I see.
My final words are "rest in peace"
I want to leave again, and I want chemicals in my brain. I want to know what peace and calm feel like.
I know how to live alone, but you left me without a home, and it's getting much too cold outside ay night.
My final words are rest in peace. You might not be dead, but you're dead to me.
I might not be too good at most things I do, but I'm hands down the best person at missing you.
